Historical Society elects new office bearers

THE Warracknabeal and District Historical Society has completed it’s five Annual General Meetings (AGMs).

The society has five divisions, three of which are based at the Wheatlands Agricultural Museum.

These are the Machinery Committee, Management Committee and Rally Committee.

These divisions, apart from the rally committee, all completed AGMs in February, with several changes in office bearers.

The Historical Society’s AGM has also been held with one main change to office bearers.

Lorraine Inkster takes over the reins of President from John Davies with most other offices remaining the same.

At the meeting members discussed options for activities throughout the year, including a couple of excursions, guest speakers and “show and tells”.

The Historical Society caters for a wide range of interests.

People interested in recording and researching local history can volunteer at the Historical Centre in Scott-st.

Local farming and machinery history is preserved at the machinery museum.

Anyone interested in volunteering and joining the Historical Society are invited to contact the society.

A member once said, “volunteers are expected to do only what they can, when they can and enjoy doing it.” People can contact any society member to be involved.
