IN a small town called Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, British Columbia in Canada Leanne Darell was moved by watching reports of the toll that our bushfires were taking of our wildlife.
She wanted to be able to give something to help Australia’s animal communities.
At her small business, called RoKodog, Leanne makes bandanas, collars and coats for dogs and decided to make special bandanas, with kangaroo images on them, and donate the funds raised to Australian wildlife protection.
Sale of these bandanas have raised $550 that has been donated to a wildlife protection group.
Warracknabeal resident Eileen Sholl said a friend in Vancouver sent one to them.
“It’s good to know that so any people overseas have been concerned enough to help our wildlife,” Mrs Sholl said.
