HINDMARSH Shire Council has released its Annual Report for 2018/19 with a copy available on the website or hard copy at the customer service centres.
The customer satisfaction survey report shows that council scores equal to or higher than the average of small rural shires in the seven key areas.
Major capital works completed in the year included the final stages of the Dimboola drainage project, the construction of new netball change rooms, and a new roof for the basketball stadium.
A section of the Antwerp Woorak Road was also upgraded with further work scheduled for the current year.
Other highlights of the year included a new footpath in Victoria Street, the human powered vehicle expo which attracted 700 people, Freeza event with pizza and a deejay at the swimming pool and the installation of solar panels and lighting under shop verandahs.
During 2018/19 Council’s Community Action Grants and Business Assistance Grants schemes awarded $35,597 to 32 community group and businesses across the shire.
Local recipients included Snape Reserve Trust for Nature Committee of Management, Dimboola Rowing Club, Dimboola Playgroup, Kiata Progress Association,Dimboola Croquet Club, Dimboola Golf
Club, Dimboola RSL Sub-Branch, Dimboola Fishing Classic and Design Ease.
Caravan park visitors across the shire for the year were 13,617.
The HSC financial report indicates that Dimboola Riverside Holiday Park had roughly 180 visitors for both July and August and almost 300 for September.
