Shaw’s spare time home renovations

Still in business after 20 years, Shaw’s Building Supplies   manager Kevin Bowler said that even with the uncertainty of COVID-19, he and staff at Shaw’s are always welcoming those looking to tinker around the house.

While people have been required to stay home under the government restrictions, Mr Bowler noticed an increase in people buying up goods to fix up bits and pieces around the house.

With the number of deliveries rising over the past month, Mr Bowler suspects that people have been using the time at home to fix up jobs that may have been put aside.

The owners of Shaw’s Building Supplies turned the site from a builder’s yard to a hardware store back in 2002, and since then, staff at Shaw’s have been happy to service the town with all their hardware, timber, cement, and paint supplies.

Even with disruptions to normal business, staff at Shaw’s have been happy to continue offering their delivery services, which doesn’t charge within Warracknabeal but does for surrounding towns.

Although the past four weeks have been unprecedented, Mr Bowler lauded residents for their support.

“People seem to be doing the right thing. Everyone’s sticking together and working together.”
