A Magical Night at Warracknabeal Primary School
Warracknabeal Primary School transformed its gym into a world of magic and music as it hosted 'When You Wish Upon A Star: A Disney Concert' on October 22.

Principal Christopher Kellett said a packed audience of around 400 people came together to celebrate the joy, talent, and creativity of the students.
"After a term of dedicated rehearsals, each class performed its own Disney song, with soloists and small groups adding extra sparkle throughout the evening," he said.
The Prep/1 class opened with Heigh Ho from Snow White, followed by Grade 3/4 bringing the Bare Necessities to life.
Grade 1/2 wowed with Just Can’t Wait to Be King, and Grade 2/3 had the audience smiling and dancing along with Under the Sea.
Grade 4/5 charmed everyone with You’re Welcome from Moana, and the Grade 6s had hearts melting with their collaboration to You’ve Got A Friend in Me with their little buddies in Prep/1.
A girl group delivered a heartfelt rendition of Part of Your World, while additional solos included Do You Wanna Build a Snowman and How Far I’ll Go.
.
"Every student wore a costume from head to toe, fully embracing their character," Mr Kellett said.
"The singing and choreography had been practiced over and over, and everyone knew exactly what they were doing.
"The show ran smoothly from start to finish, from Mickey and Minnie introducing the show to the final bows, and it was clear that everyone involved had poured their heart into it."
Mr Kellet added the week of rehearsals reflected the excitement, with record numbers of students eager not to miss a moment of the magic.
Behind the scenes, the dedication of the staff was nothing short of extraordinary.
"From organising and labelling costumes, arranging over 300 chairs, practicing songs, to helping tidy up after the final performance, it was a true team effort that showcased the heart of Warracknabeal Primary School," Mr Kellett said.
"Special shoutouts go to the brave soloists who stepped into the spotlight, including Adelaide, Mayra, Elsa, Zac, Jordan, Kobe, Sandi, Logan, Kaydan, Mrs Starick, Mr Jones, Harry Butcher and Miss P.
"Their performances added unforgettable moments to an already spectacular night."
THe principal noted the magical production would not have happened without the hard work of director Jorja Polglase
"In her first year of teaching as the Grade 6 classroom teacher, Miss P brought her extensive background in musical theatre to the school," Mr Kellett said.
"She conceived the entire show, chose the songs, held auditions, allocated roles, taught singing and dancing, edited videos, coordinated costumes, and oversaw every detail with boundless passion."
“I loved every second of it,” Miss P said.
“It was one of the best productions I have been a part of, purely because of the support from every single person involved.
"Performing arts gives people the chance to shine, grow in confidence, and work together, and that is exactly what this show did for our kids.
"I cannot wait for the next one.”
Mr Kellet gave a special thank you to Russell Brown, who provided and ran all technical elements of the show, ensuring that the music, videos, and lights were nothing short of magical.
"It was a night that will live long in the hearts of everyone who attended," Mr Kellett said.
"In a small community like Warracknabeal, we are incredibly lucky to have so many passionate people who bring a little bit of magic to life every day.
"And as the students reminded us all, anything is possible when you wish upon a star."
