Action group gets Canberra MP access

Nhill farmer, Marty Colbert travelled to Canberra recently to meet with Mallee MP Anne Webster and also meet with staff for the environment and water minister, Murray Watt – to enable farmer representation on the process for the potential reclassification of dingoes in the Big Desert region. “West Wimmera Action Group would like to get a seat at the table and to provide input regarding what will happen on our side of the fence, which is where the impact of that legislation may land,” he said. Advocates for the dingo population in and around the Big Desert area claim they are unique and in danger of extinction, needing protection at a federal level.
