MURTOA residents and visitors alike are keenly awaiting Murtoa's 136th Agricultural Show, which unofficially marks the beginning of Murtoa's 150th Big Weekend Celebrations.

"It's really exciting to be able to finally put an event on for our community to enjoy," Event organiser Claire Bibby said.

Horse events will kick off the exciting day, which will be held at the Murtoa Show Grounds on Friday, October 30.

The horse events will begin at 9am, with the Show officially opening its gates from 11:30-4:30pm.

Ms Bibby said that the community engagement for the 2022 Show was great to see.

"Entries are looking really positive in all sections including flowers, photography, cooking and preserves-I think people are really excited about getting back to exhibiting," she said.

"There will be lots of food available along with a great line-up of entertrainment- the Jamie and Kim Zoo, Fun Farm 2 U, Tim Tim, Balloonantic Bruce and lots more.

"We have market stalls set up too. There will be lots to see for everyone."

Tickets can be purchased for adults for $10 and $5 for pensioners and children aged between 5-15.

Entry is free for children five and under.

A $25 membership will also be available to purchase, which will entitle members to free admission for themselvers, their partners and children aged under 16 years.

"The Show is the one day in the year that the community, and past community members, come together to catch up and it's a fun-filled day for the young people of our community to enjoy," Ms Bibby said.

"We are looking forward to everyone coming together at the Show, catching up with family and friends and having lots of fun!"
