Alternative holidays coming up
Hindmarsh Shire Council has been granted approval to observe alternative public holidays in Nhill and Rainbow in lieu of Melbourne Cup Day.

In Rainbow, Kenmare and Albacutya the public holiday will be celebrated for Rainbow Show on Tuesday October 15 this year.
In Nhill, Little Desert, Gerang Gerung, Kiata, Glenlee, Netherby, Lorquon, Yanac and Broughton it will fall on Thursday October 17.
The remaining areas within Hindmarsh Shire will have a full-day public holiday on Melbourne Cup Day, Tuesday November 5.
The Dimboola Show will be held on Saturday October 21 and the Jeparit Show on Sunday October 22.
