Apsley Primary unveils vibrant mural
Apsley Primary School has transformed a long blank wall into a vibrant celebration of community, nature and creativity, thanks to a special collaboration with renowned muralist Philip Kalinowski.

The school invited Mr Kalinowski into the classroom to co-create the mural with all 27 students as part of a two-week project.
The finished artwork now stretches across the front of the school and captures the theme of "growing together," featuring local landscapes, birdlife and the spirit of the Apsley community.
"This wall has been blank for fifteen years, so this project was long overdue," said Principal Tanya Turner.
"The mural is the first thing visitors see, and it now reflects exactly who we are as a school—bright, inclusive and full of life.
"The students have loved every minute of it."
The school partnered with the Edenhope Artist Residency program to secure the artist, whose process involved students from the very beginning.
Together, they brainstormed ideas, sketched designs, and brought their shared vision to life through paint.
The Dulux Community Donation Program supported the project by donating high-quality primers and colourful exterior paints.
"As a small school, we often rely on donations for extra projects," Ms Turner said.
"We were completely overwhelmed when we heard of Dulux's generous offer.
"Thanks to them, we've been able to redirect funds to another project our students are passionate about."
The mural now brightens one of the school's external buildings, overlooking the yard where students gather during recess and lunch, ensuring their creativity is on display every day.
