Ararat on a roll with another big win

A nine-goal haul to Tom Williamson has powered Ararat to a 105-point win over the Horsham Saints at Coughlin Park in round five of the Wimmera Football Netball League on Saturday.

The Rats were clinical early, kicking five straight to take an 11-point lead into quarter time. A further six goals in the second quarter extended the margin to 38 at halftime.

The Rats didn't stop there, coming out after halftime with a further 12 goals to win 23.17.155 to 7.8.50.

Adam Haslett chipped in with five goals for Ararat. Tom Williamson has kicked 20 goals in the last three weeks and is one of the form forwards in the competition.

Jake Robinson, James Jennings and Henry Shea were also brilliant for the Rats.

For the Saints, Corey Morgan kicked four goals with Cody Bryan and Patrick Knott among their best players.

At Minyip Recreation Reserve, it was another triple-figure margin, this time the Thunder running out 100-point winners over Minyip Murtoa.

An eight-goal second quarter set up the win with the Thunder leading by 64 points at halftime. They kicked a further eight goals in the second half to win 21.20 146 to 6.10.46.

Jackson Fisher kicked four goals for the Thunder with Thomas Clarke, Bradley Lowe and Coleman Schache chipping in with three.

Oscar Gawith kicked another four goals for Minyip Murtoa. Tanner Smith and Kade Petering again were among their best players.

Dimboola had a difficult, hard-fought, 28-point win over the improved Warrack Eagles at Dimboola Recreation Reserve.

The Eagles were inaccurate in the first half, kicking 11 behinds, but were only trailing by eight points.

The third quarter is where Dimboola won the match, kicking three goals and holding the Eagles scoreless to take a 28-point lead into three-quarter time. The Roos then ran out the game to win 8.14.62 to 5.14.44.

The Roos had eight different goal kickers with Andrew Moore and Dylan Landt outstanding through the midfield.

For the Eagles, Jai Kovatseff kicked two goals with Kyle Cheney, Declan Powell and Lachie Stewart among the better players.

At Davis Park, Horsham defeated Nhill by 10 points in a topsy-turvy match.

The Demons stormed out of the blocks in the first quarter to lead by 16 points at quarter-time. A six-goal to one second quarter saw Nhill take a 14-point lead into the main break.

In the third quarter, the Demons kicked five goals to one to lead by 12 points and in the last quarter held the Tigers off to win 11.14.80 to 10.10.70.

Ryan Kemp kicked four goals for the Demons with Hugo Papst, Benjamin Janetski, Brody Pope and Tyler Blake among their best players.

For the Tigers, Jake McQueen kicked three with Liam Albrecht, Bronte Hiscock and Jarryd Dahlenburg their best.
