Aus Day a huge success on Serviceton green
Seviceton bowls’ four-day Australia Day tournament has come and gone for this year in some of the hottest weather this season.

Thank you to visitors from Nhill, Kaniva, Mundulla, Warrnambool, Ballarat, Sydney, Bordertown and Encounter Bay.
These players come each year for the bowling, food and fun.
We missed several other regular visitors who couldn’t attend because of fires and illness.
The green looks a picture.
Congratulations to the winners of great trophies donated by many wonderful sponsors.
Friday January 23 was mixed fours.
Runners-up were Don McCormack, Greg Hawker, Shelly McCormack and Adam McCormack with two wins.
This team are regular visitors to our tournament from near Sydney, Warrnambool and Ballarat.
Congratulations to the winning team, Gary Lock, from Mundulla, Darren Merrett, Bev Makin and Rick Miles from Serviceton Club, with three game wins.
On Saturday January 24 we played mixed pairs on the cooler evening to avoid the heat.
Adam and Shelly McCormack won all their games to win the day.
Runners-up were Lorraine and Adrian Coad from Kaniva.
Sunday’s play was any combination triples, played in the morning to beat the heat, although the weather that day was milder.
Winners were a Kaniva team of Steve Duthie, Tim Meyer and Adrian Coad who took home freezer-bags containing boned legs of lamb.
The runners-up were a Nhill team of Ivan Reichelt, Ray Olney and Suzette Chadwick who took home one large boned leg of lamb from JBS, one of our annual sponsors.
In this week's midweek pennant we won on a forfeit from Coughlin Park Two.
There are only two matches left before the finals.
