Back-to-back winners
TWENTY-SIX men and 16 ladies competed in the field of golf last Saturday at the Warracknbeal Golf Club.
The main event was the Life Members Mixed Pinehurst with a secondary event for men's stableford.
As stated, the main event was sponsored by Mx Woodward (Lynne), Mary Massey, Michael Marchment and Jack Kranz who all attended presentations for their event. Bernard Lindsay sponsored the mens stableford. Thank you to all.
Back-to-back winners were Ross Laycock and Vicki Hinkley with 70 5/8. Runners up were Dennis Murphy and Casey Phelan with 73 6/8, third placegetters were Karen and Nick Germano with 74 3/8 and fourth place was Maree Heenan and David Flannery with 74 4/8.
Congratulations to all trophy winners on a very prestigious event.
Mens stableford was won by Daryl McKay (hcp 27) with 38 stableford points. Runner-up was Richie Bett (17) with 32 points.
Nearest the pin second shot ninth hole was Ryan Smith. No-one registered on the fifth hole, while the seventh was Ross Laycock and on the 13th hole was Steve Greenwood and Julie Koschitzke.
The Palace Hotel Meal Run last Thursday was won by Glen Hose on the front nine holes with 21 points. Runner-up was Richie Bett on 20 points.
The back nine holes was won by Jamie Weston with 19 points. David Baxter was runner-up with 18 points on a countback from Richie Bett, Ron Thouliss, Wayne George and Stan Ryan.
Overall 18 hole winner was Richie Bett with 38 points.
