Mrs Sanders was born in Natimuk and later moved to Polkemmet where she and late husband Malcolm ran a farm.

Together they raised three children, Lyal, Evan and Julie.

She was a dedicated cook and became known for her sponges and fruit cakes, and turned into a renowned show cake judge.

She enjoyed tennis and was a part of many community groups throughout the years.

Just seven years ago, Mrs Sanders became a permanent resident at Dunmukle Lodge.

A celebration was hosted at the Lodge on September 26 with around 40 family, friends and residents attending to mark another special year for Mrs Sanders.
