A big grin for the win: Nate Roycroft claimed the chequered flag in the novice class at Blue Ribbon on Sunday.

Depsite a bit of rain and a little wind, the club was able to host a full program, with the drivers putting on an amazing show for spectators, from all reports.

In the novice, Hunter Brown claimed the chequered flag in the first heat, ahead of Nate Roycroft and Lewis O'Brien.

Brown backed the first round performance up with a second heat win in the following race, crossing the line ahead of O'Brien and Aury Muller.

And in the final heat, Brown once again had success, finishing again infront of O'Brien, with Roycroft in third.

With a clean record, Brown started off pole for the A main and led the race, with Roycroft hot in pursuit.

There was then drama in the final stages, with the driver of the V70 causing a stoppage by spinning, which would have seen him relegated to rear of field if the race had continued.

However, it was declared because of rain, which meant Roycroft earned his first win in his new car.

O'Brien finished second and Zara Wright third.

In junior restricted class, Jed Simpson crossed the line first in the opening race, followed closely by Reed Muller and Logan Wright.

But Muller went one better in the second hitout, beating Simpson, with both drivers finishing ahead of Chase Goss.

In the final heat, Simpson reclaimed first place, with Wright and Muller crossing the line after him.

Simpson earned pole for the final and maintained his first position for the entirety of the race, with Muller a clean second and Goss, despite being challenged at times by Wright, finishing third.

With 11 cars competing in the open 120, it was the biggest class field of the meeting.

Dusty Eastham set the standard early, claiming the first win for the class, finishing ahead of Josie Chippindall and Ollie Roycroft.

O'Brien bounced back from a fourth-place finish in the first heat to cross the line first in heat two, and he finished in front of Eastham and Sophie Van Ginneken.

In the final heat race of the day for the open 120, Leo Parsons stormed home for the win, finishing just 0.052 of a second in front of the V85 of Roycroft, with Van Ginneken earning a consecutive third.

Eastham started off the front row for the A main and led for the entire race to eventually finish in front of O'Brien, who crossed the line just 0.30 of a second behind the V88.

And Roycroft rounded out the podium, finishing just half a second behind O'Brien.

Finally, on track in the most powerful vehicles of the day, the open 160s brought action and entertainment on track, which culminated in a family-filled podium at the completion of racing.

But first, in the opening heat race, it was Lexi Eastham's win, with the V88 driver earning bragging rights early over Billy Parsons and Toby Lock.

It was in heat two, though, that Zac Parsons gave the other drivers a lesson in speedway, recording a 2.59 second win over Billy Parsons, with Charlie Ackland third.

Billy Parsons did one better again in the final heat, claiming the black-and-white chequered flag, with Lock crossing the line second and Ben Parsons third.

The A main demonstrated some brilliant racing, with eventual winner Zac Parsons coming from third to claim the win and Billy Parsons, who led the race until the later stages, finishing second.

Ben Parsons, who was fifth as the green flag dropped, worked his way up to finish third.
