Blizzard secures Olympic spot after emotional qualification
Ararat's Sarah Blizzard has made the Australian Olympic team. Blizzard spoke to Wimmera Mallee News last night, before the Australian Olympic Committee officially announced it this morning.
Ararat’s Sarah Blizzard has officially been named to the Australian Olympic team, qualifying in the two-woman bobsled.
She qualified for the two-woman bobsled.
An emotional Blizzard said she also felt proud and relieved.
"It’s a bit weird because most of the season we were within qualifying for two women, so we already knew we were in before we raced last weekend, but finishing that race there was a huge wave of emotion and extremely happy tears because we knew we had done it," Blizzard said.
"But I’m extremely happy, and obviously very proud of myself and my team as well as everyone else who has helped us get here."
