Bombers and Roos clash at City Oval
Noradjuha Quantong and Harrow Balmoral's senior football sides will continue their growing rivalry in round 13 of the Horsham District Football Netball League this Saturday, July 11.
The Southern Roos proved too strong in the 2025 grand final, but the Bombers got one back in round two earlier this year, just defeating the three-time reigning premiers 59-57.
While admitting it was nice to beat Harrow Balmoral earlier in the season, Bombers coach Damian Cameron insists a lot has changed since then, noting his opponent’s strong form.
“That win early in the year was a good match of footy, but I think that early in the season, you're still trying to find your feet,” he said.
“And Harrow, obviously having a few guys coming in and out with a bit of a different side from last year.
“Their form's been great since then, and ours has been up and down a little bit, but the last few weeks have been a lot better.”
While there have been some tight encounters, the Southern Roos have won nine consecutive games since that round two loss, and sit atop the ladder.
With players returning by the week, the Bombers have looked increasingly better over recent rounds, including wins over the Cougars and the Swifts.
Despite an injury cloud over Southern Roos swingman Michael Close, the Bombers coach said his side will prepare as much as possible for the matchups across the park.
“It's always one of those ones with Harrow; their top-tier players are just elite,” Cameron said.
“There's a little bit of work that goes into the matchups before that, but at the same time, they've got a couple of players that swing a little bit as well.
“So we’ll probably have plan A and plan B and that type of thing with a few matchups, but will finalise that on Saturday when we get there"
