Book Club members Dianne Roberts, Marg Unger, Barbara Young and Ruth Gosling decided to start reading 'Mallee Boys' at the last session.

The club gathers every third Thursday of the month and brings local readers together to explore a wide variety of books and share their thoughts.

Members actively exchange opinions, which often differ depending on the book.

“It is great to get the different people’s opinions of the books,” said Dianne Roberts.

“The opinions vary a lot from book to book," she said.

Ruth Gosling continues to discover new authors through the club.

“As a result of the book club, I have discovered many authors that I haven’t previously read,” she said.

Marg Unger embraces the challenge of unfamiliar genres.

“I enjoy reading different genres that I normally wouldn’t read and then coming together to discuss our interpretation of the books,” she said.

The club encourages other community members to join, contribute to discussions, and share their favourite books.

The next meeting will be at the Rainbow Learning Group and Neighbourhood House on Eddy Street at 7.30pm.
