Brim-born Jack Quick set for success
“I’VE ALWAYS loved photography and journalism,” Brim-born Jack Quick says about his study pathway at Deakin University.

“I’VE ALWAYS loved photography and journalism,” Brim-born Jack Quick says about his study pathway at Deakin University.
The 23-year old recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, with majors in photography and journalism.
Mr Quick attended the Burwood Campus in Melbourne, and spent his first year living on campus.
Mr Quick said that Deakin gave him the opportunity to explore subjects that weren’t offered to him during high school, especially with photography.
“Deakin was awesome and well-equipped,” Mr Quick said.
Originally a three-year course, Mr Quick completed his degree in five after deferring for six months with a broken leg and moving to online study due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr Quick was last on campus in 2019.
“COVID really threw me out,” he said.
Mr Quick finished his classes in June 2021 and attended an informal Graduation on the Green ceremony in April 2022.
Mr Quick is now an automotive journalist at CarExpert, which specialises in new cars and new car buyers.
Originally beginning as an internship, it is now a full time position for Mr Quick in his “dream job.”
“(I’ve) been working towards this for a long time,” Mr Quick said, “I’ve been focused on getting where I am now, exploring what CarExpert has to offer me, (but I’m) open to every single door.”
