Brody Pope and Ebonie Salter awarded Horsham Best and Fairest

Brody Pope has been rewarded with a consistent season by winning the Senior Football Horsham Best and Fairest. Ben Lakin was runner-up.
It tops off a brilliant year for the midfielder after winning the League Under 21 Best and Fairest two weeks ago. He played all 16 games this year featurning in the best players on 14 occasions.
Brody was thrilled to win the Best and Fairest.
"It feels good. It feels like I have accomplished something," he said.
When asked what his most memorable moment of the year was he pointed out their two wins against the Warrack Eagles.
"We didn't go where we wanted as a team this year, but those two wins was great for the club and were the highlight for me."
Pope also spoke about the League Under 21 Best and Fairest and said he was surprised with the win.
"I worked really hard this year to stay in top shape so it was a reward for effort and it's a great feeling but also surprising at the same time," he said.
Pope is looking forward to next year knowing the club is heading in the right direction.
"There have been some great signs and the future is positive for the club."
Tyler Blake, Jordon Motton and Benjamin Janetzki were in a three-way tie for Most Consistent.
As coach and one of the experienced players Tyler Blake led the team well.
Jordan Motton as another experienced player kicked 40 goals for the year, scoring in all but 2 games with a game high 7 against the Warrack Eagles and three occasions where he kicked 6 goals.
Benjamin Janetzki played in 13 games and was featured in the best on 7 occasions.
Max Bunworth was awarded the best first year player. He made his senior debut in Round 2 against the Horsham Saints and didn't look out of place playing in 13 games. He kicked 6 goals for the year including one in his debut game and finished in the best on 5 occasions.
Fellow teenager Hudson Hair was awarded most improved. He made his debut in the 2021 season playing 2 games and then 7 last year. This year he played in all 16 games and featured in the best players on 7 occasions.
In the Reserves, Josh Mibus claimed the win ahead of Deek Roberts.
Mibus kicked 54 goals this year in 18 games and featured in the best players on 13 occasions.
Other awards were; Jeremy Hartigan (Most Consistent), Chris Stamoudis (Coach's Award), Nik Stamoudis (Most Determined), Dyson Parish (Best Utility), Logan Miller (Best First Year Player) and Deek Roberts (Best in Finals).
In the Netball, Ebonie Salter won the A Grade Best and Fairest ahead of Georgie Carberry. Carberry was also awarded Best in Finals and Romi Miller won the Coach's Award.
It was a great season for both Salter and Carberry, both named in the league team of the year on the interchange and wing attack respectively.
The B Grade was won by Brianna Luciani ahead of Hayley Reid. Other award winners were; Alex Neale (Most Consistent), Lauren Etherton (Coach's Award), Jemma Thomas (Best in Finals).
In the C Grade it was Janelle Knight winning ahead of Mikayla Rethus. Rethus was also awarded Best in Finals whilst Corin Powell took home the Coach's award.
Michelle Clarkson won the C Reserve ahead of Ruby Hickmott. Ava Fitzgerald was awarded Best in Finals whilst Kirsten Mines took home the Coach's Award.
Three other club awards were handed out. Imogen Worthy was awarded the best Under 21, the Nikki De Wit Memorial went to Zarli Knight and the Jennifer Best Award was handed out to Tegan Wade.
The Club Person of the year was awarded to the Arnel Family (Terry, Jackie, Greta, Finn and Halle).
Also on the night, four players were awarded life membership; Ben Lakin, Billy Carberry, Jordyn Burke and Damien Thompson.
Jordyn Burke is returning to the club in 2023 as the Senior Football Coach.
