After recently securing funding through Regional Development Victoria, Yarriambiack has partnered with Buloke, Loddon, Hindmarsh and Swan Hill councils to investigate establishing a shared service model for municipal building surveyor services.

To prepare for the changes, council needs to temporarily suspend acceptance of building permit applications that can otherwise be processed by private registered building surveyors.

The transition to the new model will take place from July 20.

Council will still accept report and consent applications, requests for information and other applications that cannot be processed by private registered building surveyors.

Anyone who needs to explore which private register building surveyors are available within the region can visit the Victorian Building Authority website for more information.
