Bullants overcome Donald Jeffcott
Round six of the Horsham Cricket Association took place on Saturday, with the Bullants defeating Donald Jeffcott to hold on to second place on the ladder.

Playing at Horsham City Oval, the Bullants elected to put Donald Jeffcott in to bat.
Koby Westerland (41) and captain Eddie Landwehr (25) led the way as the middle order helped Donald Jeffcott to 4/100 in the 31st over.
But some impressive Bullants bowling limited Donald Jeffcott’s late order contributions as they were bowled out for 131 in the 38th over.
Bullants captain Tony Caccaviello led the way with figures of 3/26 while Heath Lang (2/12) and Matthew Combe (2/28) each had two wickets.
Accurate bowling from Donald Jeffcott had the Bullants at 4/54 in the 18th over before an 81-run unbeaten partnership between Caccaviello (46 not out) and Jamie Byrne (43 not out) helped secure the Bullants’ victory.
Nicholas Atkins (2/16) and Cooper Anderson (2/26) were the Donald Jeffcott wicket takers.
Caccaviello credited the team’s performances with both bat and ball for helping them to victory.
“I was pretty happy with how we bowled,” Caccaviello said.
“It was a really good wicket to bat on and we bowled some tight overs.
“I think we did a good job with the chase – everyone contributed and we got home with plenty to spare.
“It was a really good contest the first time going against the Donald Jeffcott boys; I think they will be a bit of a handful this year.”
At Davis Park in Nhill, Brim Kellalac Sheep Hills (Brim KSH) elected to bat against West Wimmera.
After delivering three maiden overs to start the game, Warriors captain Nathan Alexander and fellow opening bowler Joshua Lees had the Eagles in strife at 4/5 in the eighth over.
A 27-run partnership between Lachlan McGinniss (28) and Chris McPherson (10) looked to get things back on track for the Eagles, but the Warriors’ economical bowling continued to create wickets, eventually dismissing the visitors for 58 in the 32nd over.
All five of the Warriors’ bowlers – Nathan Alexander (2/4), Austin Merrett (2/4), Joshua Lees (2/9), Brodie Cramer (2/19) and Tim Braendler (2/20) – chipped in with two wickets each.
Nathan Alexander wasted no time in chasing down the runs, scoring 40 not out off 13 balls, supported by brother Brad Alexander (nine not out) as the Warriors chased down the runs in the sixth over to finish 10-wicket victors.
At Anzac Park, St Mary’s elected to bat against the Tigers, where Daniel Westerland (26) and Sean Smith (46) set the innings up before the home side finished on 9/157 from 40 overs.
Archie Knight led the Tigers with the ball with figures of 4/20, while Marty Knight (2/15) and David Puls (2/22) took two wickets each.
In the Tigers’ run chase, Brodie Dennes trapped Callum Jackson for leg before wicket on the first ball of the innings before the Tigers fell to 4/18.
Tyler Puls and Grant Connelly (22) settled things before a slew of wickets from Colby Schmidt saw the Tigers fall to 8/85 in the 29th over.
But a captain’s knock from Tyler Puls, with the support of Anderson Brown (six not out), saw the two put on a match-winning 74-run ninth-wicket partnership as the Tigers won by two wickets with nine balls to spare.
Puls finished with 90 not out, while Colby Schmidt led St Mary’s with 4/18 and Dennes had 1/23 from his eight overs.
At Central Park in Stawell, Swifts-Great Western elected to bat against Lubeck Murtoa.
Supported by Aiden Graveson (30) and Max McMahon (39), Zach Marrow led the home side with a run-a-ball 109 as the team finished on 7/231 from their 40 overs.
Cameron Newell led the Mudlarks with figures of 2/49 and Blake Turner (1/24) provided some economical overs.
Some early wickets then saw the Mudlarks reeling at 3/30 before middle order resistance from William Gellatly (48) and Cameron Newell (37) and a 19-ball 40 from Blake Turner got Lubeck Murtoa back into the game.
But Swifts-Great Western were able to contain the visitors as the Mudlarks finished on 9/198.
Wil Clough led the home side’s bowling effort with 3/32 while Jayden McCartney had 2/47.
At Cameron Oval, Laharum opted to bat against the Colts, where opener Daniel Griffiths led the Demons, scoring 82 before being dismissed in the 40th over.
Contributions of 30 from Jason Kannar and 12 not out from Jackson Hoffman towards the end of the innings helped Laharum reach 7/178.
Logan Miller (2/25), Jake McLean (2/29) and Alex Baker (2/45) all took two wickets for the Colts.
After two early wickets, Josh Colbert (29) and Luke Deutscher (22) helped the Colts stay in the game, but economical bowling and regular wickets from the Demons contained the visitors to 8/141.
Joey Nagorcka led the Colts with 30 not out, while Jason Kannar led the bowling effort with figures of 5/33 and Hoffman had 1/17 from his eight overs.
