The June 4-5 Community Camp program allowed AFLW players to engage with women and girls in the community, inspiring the next generation of AFLW athletes.

The team hosted an open training session at Coughlin Park on Friday, providing members and fans the chance to meet their AFLW heroes.

Bulldogs player Isabelle Pritchard said that being part of the community camp offers young fans a chance to be inspired to chase their own dreams.

“I think it’s special for the young girls and the kids in general, for them to see and meet the people that actually play,” Pritchard said.

“Seeing professional players helps them see what is possible with football and it might inspire them to stick at it.

“But also spending time with them has a big impact on us.

“When you're in the midst of preseason where things can be pretty gruelling, being able to hang out with these kids is sort of a reminder of the difference that we can make.”

AFL Victoria also ran a Footy Skills session for girls of all ages in Horsham.
