Warrack led by a point at quarter time in the game held at Murtoa Recreation Reserve, but the Burra's found their rhythm from then, leading by 15 points at half time and 27 points going into the final quarter, with final scores being 11.10 (76) to 8.13 (61).

The Burra's were best led by Dusty Cross and Luke Fisher while for the losing side, Riley Morrow and Nick Ingram were best on ground.

Nick Cushing and Josh Roman were the only multiple goal scorers for the Burra's, but they had an impressive nine individual goal kickers on Saturday.

For the opposition, Charlie Wilson booted four majors.

Coach of Minyip Murtoa, Gareth Hose, credited Warrack on the start of their game, but said his side were able to recover.

"Warrack started the game really well and were getting their hands on the ball a little more than us, but I felt we were able to turn that around in the second and third quarters," he said.

"I felt our pressure also lifted, which enabled us to win the footy back more often.

"Despite holding a 27-point lead going into the final quarter, the side only won by 15 points and Hose said the Burras were disappointed with the way they finished the match.

"We got ourselves in a commanding position and didn't go on with it, letting them kick a few late ones, something we will need to work on," he said.

But he was happy with how many players were able to find the big sticks, with nearly half the side booting majors for the team on Saturday.

"It was really pleasing to have the goal kicking spread we did, it shows we aren't one-dimensional," Hose said.

"We have a few key forwards who get a lot of attention and this opens up opportunities for others."

He also acknowledged the efforts of Cross and Fisher.

"Dusty Cross was really strong for us in the contest and down back all day, along with Luke Fisher who won plenty of ball through the midfield," he said.
