Burras in a must win

While Nhill have its finals place booked for this season, finals for Minyip Murtoa could just be out of reach.

There's plenty on the line for both Nhill and Minyip Murtoa, with the Burras needing to win.

There is a chance for the Burras, sixth, to make finals, but they need to close the gap on Dimboola (fifth), who are four points ahead of them on the ladder.

But the Burras must approach this week as a must-win - even if they are coming up against a higher-placed side.

After facing Nhill this coming Saturday, Minyip Murtoa will line up against the Demons, while Dimboola will play the Eagles this Saturday, and the Thunder the following week.

Last time Minyip Murtoa and Nhill met, Nhill claimed the win by 20 points.

In that game, Drew Schneider led the way in goal kicking, with four majors for Nhill, while Ben McIntyre and Luke Fisher and Daniel Batson and Nathan Alexander were the better players for their respective teams.

To the Burras' credit, in that game, they did get off to a brilliant start, but Nhill pegged back what was once a 25-point lead to even things up going into the final quarter, before finishing more strongly than their opponents.

Both Minyip Murtoa and Nhill are coming off a loss last week; the Burras to the Horsham Saints by 18 points and Nhill to the Thunder by 61 points.

Players to watch for this week, and who could dictate the result, include Kade Petering (Minyip Murtoa) and Liam Albrecht (Nhill), who have both been in brilliant form this season for their respective sides.
