Man in the Corner: Butcher, not meat, roasted by peers

There are a few phrases in life that bring instant regret. "I can jump that...", “The dog won’t escape...”. Add “I’ve just put petrol in the diesel van” to the list.

After the Murtoa crew misfuelled their van, Horsham City Meats wasted zero time turning the moment into quality photo content.

That was the situation last week for the crew from Treloar’s Country Cuts in Murtoa, who found themselves rolling into Horsham.

One innocent slip at the bowser - the kind anyone could make on a long day - and their trusty chariot was very quickly transformed into a very expensive paperweight.

With no other choice, the lads had to park the wounded van at OTR.

Now, this wouldn’t usually be newsworthy… except OTR just happens to sit conveniently beside Horsham City Meats.

Hours later, poor Bradley Treloar started receiving photos.

Fortunately, the lads at Horsham City Meats have beautiful handwriting and a nose for photography.

“Made my day,” Brad said, a polite translation for, “I’ll never hear the end of this.”

If you can’t laugh at yourself, your mates will happily do it for you.

Let this be a lesson: check twice, pump once.
