Captain wins opening day

It’s that time of the year when winter golfers in Brim dust off the clubs for another challenging season of golf.

In perfect conditions, a good field of keen golfers went out to pit themselves against the dry course with plenty of run on the fairways and worked-up scrapes that were very heavy going.

Having done all the work getting the course ready to play, our captain Rod Gardam played great golf to continue last year's good form to win the stroke event from Paul Johns.

Four different golfers had their name on the O’Connors 2/11 hole during the day, with Heath Johns eventually claiming the ball.

No-one got near the 5/14 hole.
