Carols at the Oasis a hit
The Oasis lit up with the sound of music to remember Christmas in the inaugural 'Carols at The Oasis'.

While originally planned for outdoors, escaping the heat, the gathering enjoyed the cool of the music room, further enriching the sound.
Hot weather didn’t deter people enjoying sausages provided by the Lions Club and cool drinks from the Scouts.
Around forty people from babies through to Great Grandparents gathered to sing the well known carols and relive the Christmas story in word and song.
Highlights of the evening, Emceed by Pastor Lucas Matuschka, included the Christmas story in poetry form, read by primary students Colby and Eddison.
Beth Matuschka led the crowd in a stirring rendition of Silent Night and a less well known, but moving song, “Mary, Did you Know?”
A Nativity Tableau set to two carols, with a cast of all ages, delighted the audience, in rich and vibrant coloured costumes created by Kate Hutson.
The love of Christmas was reflected in the warmth and friendliness of people greeting each other and meeting new folk, and all left knowing that the real reason for the season is found in the birth of a baby, an ordinary event, who changes peoples’ hearts and the world.
The event raised $133 for the Christmas Bowl Appeal to support people in need.
