Cat desexing rule tightens

THE HINDMARSH Shire Council has adopted a new desexing policy for domestic cats, requiring all cats to be desexed as a condition of registration from January 1, 2028.

Hindmarsh Shire Council’s new mandatory cat desexing policy will come into effect on January 1, 2028. Despite a high proportion of registered cats already desexed, the policy includes no exemptions for working farm cats employed for vermin control.
