Celebrated leader in business and community

Dianne Marchment was once told she'd never make it in the world of small business but time tells a different story.

She has not only made it in owning and managing her successful accountancy business for more than three decades but has contributed thousands of hours to her community.

However, reflecting on her early days in accountancy she said she received valuable advice from her first employer when she was considering the leap of faith into her own business.

"At the time I was working with my second employer who told me I'd never make it but looking back that conversation with my previous employer was valuable.

"He said, don't take any of your clients with you, just set yourself up and you'll be right.

"It was valuable advice," she said.

Within a short space of time, she had a list of clients and had established, owned and manages Dianne Machment and Associates specialising in a large number of services and continues to grow more than three decades later.

She has held many executive roles in sporting and community organisations resulting in recognition for her outstanding contribution with a Citizen of the Year Award 2025 and International Women's Day guest speaker invitation to the Horsham East Rotary Club special meeting honouring extraordinary women to name a few.

The Warracknabeal Community Garden and Golf Clubs are just two examples of groups that have received support from her.

The Warracknabeal Citizen of the Year award highlighted her outstanding volunteering within the community and her sponsorship of many clubs and organisations including the Warrack Eagles.

Her volunteer roles include executive positions and coaching roles in many sporting clubs including swimming, basketball, the ski club, and netball.

Ms Marchent's contributions to clubs and organisations have included her generous sharing of her accountancy skills with grant writing, fundraising, and assistance with bookkeeping and sponsorship advice.

Her leadership skills and willing attitude to get the job done combined with her passion for her community and the Wimmera Mallee regions has been a valuable source in the sustainability of Wimmera Leadership, The Business Leaders Group. the Warracknabeal Action Group and Events Warracknabeal.

She established the Take A Break Childcare in Warracknabeal and the transfer of Y-Fest to a new committee which ensured the future of the Easter Festival.
