Childcare centre seeks staff
The call has gone out for early childhood professionals looking to work in Murtoa.
Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn said recruitment was now under way for around 100 centre-based roles across the state, including early childhood teachers, leaders in rooms, educators and cooks.
They will play a crucial role in delivering high quality care and early learning at Victoria's first state-run care centres.
Ms Blandthorn said creating jobs for locals in Murtoa was the icing on the cake for families in the community.
Enrolments for 2025 opened last month.
Centre fees will be lower than average, and families on lower incomes also will receive subsidies.
All government-run centres will also include free kinder.
The new centre in Murtoa will offer long day care - including high-quality kindergarten programs for three and four-year-olds - and a sessional kindergarten option.
