Table Tennis

Come and try table tennis
The club's annual meeting was held on March 31 at the Brim Sports Centre.

Eleven members attended, and 14 members registered apologies.
Afterwards, the first official practice night was held.
For the next eight weeks, the club will continue to be located at the Brim Sports Centre whilst the Warracknabeal Leisure Centre is being repaired.
Locally, our Table Tennis Club caters for two age groups.
Our Junior competition players range from 9 to 15 years of age, whilst the Senior or Open competition players range from 16 years and up.
Table Tennis is not a high profile sport yet most of us would have had a go at it at some stage.
As table tennis is an indoor sport, it is not uncommon to find a table stored away somewhere in a public hall, in the local sporting precinct, or in the garage at home, just waiting to be used.
Table Tennis is known for its fast-paced action and requires quick reflexes, contributing to its popularity as a way to improve hand-eye co-ordination and fitness. It is a low-impact sport that can be played by people of all ages and fitness levels.
Today, we are constantly told that we are an overweight society, and we should get out and exercise more.
Table Tennis provides that opportunity, it also provides the opportunity for us to mix socially.
Ours can be a fairly remote community. This community-based sport allows and encourages interaction with other local residents, creating the chance to catch up with friends and neighbours.
Monday, April 28, will be our next Come and Try night.
The 2025 competition for the Senior/Open division will commence on May 5. For our Juniors, though, competition will depend on when the Leisure Centre becomes available. We will provide updates on that.
If you have ever wondered what table tennis is all about, come and see, or better still, try it.
It is never too late to take up the sport, challenge yourself, get out of your comfort zone, and join the fun.
