Boolite, Warracknabeal and Kellalac were winners in Warracknabeal Table Tennis Senior competition at Brim on Monday night.
Match one saw Boolite win easily over Bangerang 9 sets to 3, 29 games to 16, 437points to 401.
Boolite raced ahead from the start taking all four of the first singles when Russell Schultz def David Baxter 11-8,11-7,11-7, sub Lindsay Martin def Bangerang sub Glen Liersch 11-6, 11-7,11-5 followed by sub Justin Watson def Simon Leslie 11-6, 8-11, 19-17, 11-6 and Will Smith def Amy Holland 11-9,11-7, 3-11, 10-12, 11-5.
Boolite continued on their winning way taking the first doubles when Russell and Lindsay won over David B and Glen 11-9, 11-6, 9-11, 16-14.
Bangerang then scored a win in the next doubles with Simon and Amy defeating Justin and Will 11-8, 11-5, 11-2.
Reverse singles were won alternately with Boolite’s Russell defeating Glen 11-8, 11-8, 11-9, Bangerang David B def Boolite sub Owen Osborne 6-11, 11-6, 11-8, 4-11, 14-12 in a five se thriller.
Boolite’s Justin def Amy 11-7, 11-5, 11-1 and Bangerang’s Simon def Will 11-7, 11-4, 11-6. Boolite won the last two doubles when Russell and Justin defeated David B and Simon 11-7, 5-11, 11-9, 13-11 and Owen and Will defeated Glen, Amy 4-11, 11-9, 5-11, 12-10, 11-8.
Match two saw Warracknabeal also have an easy victory over Wallup 9 sets to 3, 33 games to 12, 433 points to 335.
Warracknabeal’s Trevor Hemer won the first singles over Wallup’s Ash Purdue 11-8, 11-9, 8-11, 11-9. Wallup’s Brad Martin put his team on the board with a win over W’beal’s Christiana Henke 8-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-6, 11-1.
W’beal struck back taking the next two singles when David Ward def Wendy Lehmann 11-2, 11-8, 6-11, 9-11, 11-8 and Fred Ackland defeated Wallup’s Eli Robinson 11-8, 11-3, 11-9.
W’beal also won the following two doubles sets when Trevor and Christiana def Ash and Brad 11-8, 7-11, 11-6, 11-4 and David W and Fred def Wendy and Eli 11-2, 11-3, 5-11, 11-5.
Reverse singles were won alternately with W’beal’s Trevor defeating Brad 11-4, 11-4, 11-1. Wallup’s Ash won over Christiana 11-6, 8-11, 12-10, 11-6, W’beal’s David W over Eli 11-3, 11-3, 11-5 and Wallup’s Wendy def Fred 11-5, 11-5, 11-8.
W’beal sealed the match taking the last two doubles as Trevor and David W defeated Ash and Wendy 12-14, 11-7, 11-3, 11-7 and Christiana and Fred def Brad and Eli 11-6, 11-5, 11-4.
Match three saw Kellalac having to battle harder for their win over Galaquil 7 sets to 5, 24 games to 21, 399 points to 403.
Kellalac’s Jason Robinson showed the way for his team with a win over Galaquil’s Charlie Martin 11-9, 11-6, 11-4 followed by sub Owen Osborne defeating Galaquil’s Lindsay Martin 11-7, 11-13, 12-10, 11-8.
Galaquil’s Graeme Koschitzke took the next singles over Craig Byron 11-7, 11-3, 11-6. Kellalac’s Merryn Baxter won the fourth singles over Jagger Livingston 11-6, 11-6, 11-6.
Kellalac continued taking the following two doubles when Jason and Owen defeated Charlie and Lindsay 11-7, 10-12, 11-7, 11-6 and Craig and Merryn against Graeme and Jagger 11-6, 4-11, 12-10, 9-11, 11-4.
Again the reverse singles were won alternately as Galaquil’s Charlie def Kellalac sub Brad 11-5, 11-4, 5-11, 11-8, Kellalac’s Jason def Lindsay 11-3, 11-1, 12-10, Graeme def Merryn 11-5, 11-8, 11-4, and Craig def Jagger 5-11, 11-8, 12-10, 5-11, 11-8.
Galaquil won the last two doubles when Charlie and Graeme defeated Jason and Craig 10-12, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-2 and Lindsay and Jagger against Owen and Merryn 11-3, 11-9, 11-4, but it was too little too late with Kellalac victorious by two sets.
