Horsham Carols by Candlelight draws crowd of 4,000
Horsham’s Sawyer Park came alive on Sunday December 8 as around 4,000 people gathered to celebrate the annual Carols by Candlelight.

The festive community event featured communal singing, live performances, and a wide selection of food stalls, creating a vibrant and joyous atmosphere for attendees of all ages.
Organiser Simon Dandy expressed his delight with the event’s success and the impressive turnout.
“It went extremely well. The weather was perfect,” he said.
“There were 3,000 to 4,000 people and they all had a very good time.
“The best night we've had in many many years.”
The event showcased performances by local artists and choirs, who led the crowd in singing classic carols and festive tunes.
“Everyone is different and everyone’s performance was great,” Mr Dandy said.
“During the last song ‘We are the world’ when everyone was on stage, candles were there and everyone was singing, to me that was the best part of the night,” he said.
This year’s chosen charity was Wimmera Against Cancer in Kids (WACK) which is a local support group that assists families around the region, who has a child fighting cancer. Their representative spoke to the event regarding their organisation.
Mr Dandy expressed his gratitude to the community for their support and participation in the event, as well as for their generous donations.
“Thanks everyone for coming,” he said.
“We try our best to make it a wonderful family night and I hope everyone appreciates that."
“There were a lot of generous people."
“It’s too early to say about how much we have collected, but we might have the exact amount from treasury before Christmas," he said.
The Horsham Carols by Candlelight continues to be a cherished tradition, bringing the community together in celebration of the Christmas holiday season.
