Cr Karly Kirk moved the recommended motion and said it's exciting when council revises the plan.

"Like hitting reset," she said.

"A fresh start where we get to ask what matters most now and why we should focus on the next four years.

"The plan acknowledges the realities of the aging population, legislative requirements and economic pressures but through a strong lens of opportunity and innovation."

Council has created four strategic objectives to assist them with decision-making to achieve this vision.

These are:

* An innovative and diversified economy

* A healthy and inclusive community

* A resilient and sustainable natural environment

* A council that serves its community

Councillors and council staff embarked on a Budget Roadshow across the shire in which they also accepted community feedback on the council plan document.

“Extensive community consultation was undertaken with community sessions held across townships," Mayor Kylie Zanker said.

“To initiate discussions regarding the Council Plan, Councillors hosted ‘Coffee with a Councillor’ sessions across 11 townships within the municipality."

Complementing the Council Plan was the adoption of the Year 1 Action Plan for 25/26.

"We extend our gratitude to the community for their feedback and submissions, which have been instrumental in guiding the Council as we developed this crucial document outlining our direction for the next four years," Cr Zanker said.
