Rainbow’s Leading Senior Constable Tony Clark said the offender allegedly stole cash, cigarettes and other items to the value of approximately $300 just before 9pm on Monday.

“This person has gone on a bit of a spree last night,” LSC Clark said.

“The computers at the servo have been damaged, and they are needed to switch on the bowsers, so there is no fuel.”

It appears the offender gained access through a front window, and was caught on the service station’s CCTV.

The same person allegedly struck Hopetoun Cafe later the same night, stealing a car while wielding a machete.

“We have potentially identified and apprehended the offender,” LSC Clark said.
