Delightful day for bowling at St Arnaud green
Maurie Wood of St Arnaud Bowling Club has once again liaised with Rhonda Allan of Mallee Sports Assembly – Wycheproof to conduct an all-abilities bowling event for the region.

This initiative fits under the Access for All Abilities program (inclusive sport and recreation for all abilities) funded by Sport & Recreation Victoria.
The regional bowling event for people of all abilities was conducted on Wednesday March 4 at St Arnaud Bowling Club.
“The club is an ideal central regional location that's fully accessible and also has the right equipment to assist participants with limited mobility for the game of bowls,” Allan said.
"Maurie and his team of another 12 club volunteers made everyone feel so welcome.
"Thank you to Matt Jolly from Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly – Horsham (who also supplied bottled water for everyone), and Caitlin Johnston and Matt Begbie from Sports Central-Ballarat who were also present to assist with the day, which was excellent.
"Bowls Vic could not attend but provided every participant with a certificate of participation to take home."
Allan said participants attended from Stawell, St Arnaud, Nhill, Ararat, Greater Western, Ballarat and Swan Hill.
"After a delicious morning tea supplied by the bowling ladies, we welcomed everyone before the participants moved out to the greens," she said.
"The bowling was an informal, no-pressure activity where everyone enjoyed the social interaction while trying out their bowling skills.
"The weather was perfect for the outdoor activity."
Following play, everyone enjoyed a barbecue lunch which catered for by the club.
Allan thanked all involved, everyone for attending and the staff who greatly supported the participants, "especially the club volunteers of St Arnaud Bowling Club who made it all happen".
"Overall, 65 people attended the event, which was excellent," she said.
Allan presented club president Tom Amos with a certificate of appreciation as a small token to thank the club for its great support for inclusive sport and recreation.
"A great day was had by all and we hope to see even more attend the 2027 event," she said.
