Dimboola continue hot form
Dimboola won their fifth straight match in round nine of the Wimmera lawn bowls division one weekend pennant competition, defeating league leaders Horsham Golf on Saturday November 29.

In a round defined by tight contests, Sunnyside, Nhill and Horsham City also claimed victories.
At Dimboola Bowling Club, the home side won two out of three rinks to beat Horsham Golf 76-72.
In rink one, Horsham Golf’s team of Robert Grieger, Heath Miller and Denis Ballinger, skippered by Gavin Walter, defeated Dimboola’s Judith Albrecht, Robert Pyers, James McRae and skipper Joshua Cook 26-19.
In rink two, Dimboola’s team of Darryl Argall, Shannon Williams and Darryl Both, skippered by Peter O’Loughlin, defeated Ross Barnett, Stephen Harris and Geoffrey Bald, skippered by Ash Batchelor, 27-19.
Dimboola’s rink three team of Greg Cook, Wayne Albrecht, Don Connors and skipper Alan Krahe secured the overall win as they defeated Horsham Golf’s Adam Galpin, Ken McClelland, Danny Schmidt and skipper Bradley Robinson 30-27.
Playing at home, Sunnyside overcame Kaniva 75-69.
Rink one saw Sunnyside’s team of Lane Hyde, Norma Hair and Stuart Cowan, skippered by John Ackland, defeated Kaniva’s Paul Pearson, Timothy Meyer and Malcolm Coutts, skippered by Jeffrey Meyer, 31-15.
Sunnyside’s rink two team of Rod Skurrie, Barry McIntyre and Rex Bergen, skippered by Dale McRae, took a 28-21 win over Robert Puglisi, Darren Maddern, Adrian Coad and skipper Christopher La Rocca.
Kaniva then took a 33-15 rink three win, as the team of Steve Duthie, Tyler Cooper and Russell Crouch, skippered by Bruce Dodson, defeated Paul Southcott, Roger MacInnes and Chris Trotter, skippered by Gavin Watson.
At Edenhope Bowling Club, Nhill defeated Goroke Edenhope 68-57.
But it was Goroke Edenhope who took out rink one as the team of John Moloney, Travis Crawford and Terry Exell, skippered by Hugh Caldow, defeated Nhill’s Nicholas Robins, Terry Robins, Roger Brown and skipper Darren Gebert, 22-17.
Nhill then edged out the home side 24-21 in rink two, as Matthew Morrison, Brad Blackwood, Ryder Byrnes and skipper Kevin Jones defeated the team of Alan O’Bryan, Joel Lowe and Bruce Ackland, skippered by Philip Robinson.
Nhill’s rink three team of Ray Olney, Barry Cramer and Ivan Reichelt, skippered by Allan King, defeated Goroke Edenhope’s Richard Smith, Barry Crick and Tevor Mulraney, skippered by Geoff Lowe, 27-14.
At Horsham City Bowling Club, the home side swept all three rinks as they defeated Coughlin Park 80-48.
Horsham City’s rink one team of Colin Morrell, John Bruchell and Bruce Campbell, skippered by Anthony King, defeated Coughlin Park’s Vincent Antonucci, Mark Schumann and Zac Stephan, skippered by Charles Officer, 28-19.
Horsham City just edged out Coughlin Park in rink two 18-16, as William Hogan, Duncan Bottoms, Graham McDonald and skipper Ron Dolby defeated Coughlin Park’s Timothy Nihill, Allan Thompson and Rowan Hawkins, skippered by Michael Ellis.
Horsham City’s rink three team of Douglas Mitchell, John Lehmann and Kevin Smith, skippered by Kevin Clyne, defeated Coughlin Park’s Damian Bryan, Peter Beasley and Kevin Cramer, skippered by Craig Decker, 34-13.
Horsham Golf remains just ahead of Horsham City as both have seven wins while Dimboola and Nhill make up third and fourth on the ladder.
In division two, Coughlin Park just defeated Sunnyside 77-73, Natimuk defeated Goroke Edenhope 92-42, Nhill defeated Dimboola 98-56 and Horsham Golf overcame Horsham City 76-54.
In division three, Nhill Three defeated Coughlin Park Three 83-39, Horsham City defeated Nhill Four 72-42, Sunnyside defeated Horsham Golf 59-51 and Kaniva just edged out Coughlin Park Four 64-61.
