Dimboola fresh from the bye
Dimboola will have fresh legs and be looking to chalk up another win when they face Stawell this Saturday in round seven of the Wimmera Football Netball League.
While Dimboola had the bye last week, Stawell recorded a convincing win against the Demons, defeating the Horsham side 23.16 154 to 9.60 60.
Interestingly, the week before their bye, Dimboola defeated the same side 21.9 (135) to 7.4 (46).
Currently, Dimboola is third on the ladder, with a record of three and two, while Stawell is sixth, with a record of three and three.
Dimboola has been served well this season so far by the likes of Andrew Moore, Ben Miller, Dylan Landt, Jonathon Ross, and Simon Hobbs, who continue to excel week after week, and they'll all be looking for another big game this round.
Coach of Dimboola, Dean Toet, said the bye allowed the club to rest some sore players.
"We had a solid week on track, and the Saturday off, and hopefully we are refreshed for this Saturday," Toet said.
"It's going to be a contest, they'll be up and about, and the competition is even, so it makes it hard to get a gauge on where everyone is at.
"We are taking the approach that everyone is on the same level and there are no easy wins, you have to get in there and earn them, earn our stripes."
Asked if there were any opposition players Dimboola will be keeping a close eye on, Toet said Cody Driscoll and Paul Summers are on their radar.
"Dricoll is a good mark, a good goal kicker up forward, along with Paul Summers; they are coming off five and 10 goals respectively, so they have a couple of handy forwards," Toet said.
"But we try not to get too caught up in opposition teams, we focus on our game plan, what we focus on during the week, and that's ball gets and pressure.
"We know we have good mids and a pretty rounded side, so we back our ability in, and hopefully it's enough to get the job done."
Meanwhile, the coach of Stawell, James Sullivan, acknowledged Dimboola has had a good start to the season.
"We've had some good battles with them over the last couple of years, last year I know we started the season strongly, we ran into them and I think it was a kick after the siren that decided it," he said.
"Across the board, they have players that are quality, so we know it's going to be a battle, and we are going to be throwing everything at it leading into the bye the following week.
"We know we have our work cut out for us, but we are excited for the challenge and can hopefully build on the good result from last Saturday."
