Dimboola, Horsham face off in autumn croquet comp

This is a five-week friendly competition between teams of four made up of a mixture of Horsham and Dimboola players.

This is a five-week friendly competition between teams of four made up of a mixture of Horsham and Dimboola players.

Wimmera president Rachael Cousins welcomed everyone and got things organised for a 10.30am start.

John Moar’s Yellow team had a close tussle with Pink, winning by a single hoop.

Tuesday’s club play saw a field of 16 turn out on a beautiful autumn morning.

Leanne Combrink, Christine Hiscock, Alex Orcsik and Sharyn Cook all won two games in what proved to be a very competitive day's play.

Saturday May 2 is officially World Croquet Day and, while the club is not holding a special event, we would certainly welcome any newcomers interested in giving the sport a try.

The courts are near the bowling club, and no special equipment is needed.
