Dimboola prepares for challenge from Demons

This week in the Wimmera Football Netball League, Dimboola will line up against the Demons, who, despite not recording a win this season as of yet, have demonstrated promising signs.

"We can't take them lightly, we can't take any team lightly in this competition," admitted co-coach Andrew Moore.

"Every game from this point onwards is super important.

"We can't go in underprepared or thinking it's (a win) is just going to happen.

"We need to approach this like it's our final game because we need to have a strong last four games."

The co-coach is expecting to field a similar side to last week's clash, but hopes the team will be bolstered by the addition of Jack Williams, who was a late withdrawal before last Saturday's match.

"He pulled up a bit sore in his hamstring from the week before, so we are hoping he will be back for this week," Moore said.

The Demons are coming off a bye last week, and may be considered somewhat unlucky to be at this point of the season with no wins.

They've had four losses under 10 points - to the Saints (round two, by eight points), the Eagles (round seven, by three), the Thunder (round eight, by one), and recently, the Horsham Saints again, this time by a couple of points in round 11.

In round 13, Dimboola went down to Nhill by eight points.

When the Demons and Dimboola met last time, it ended in an 89-point win to the gold and green.

Moore and Ben Brett both performed well for the winners on that occasion, booting five majors each, while Dylan Landt was best on ground.

The Demons were led by the likes of Billy Carberry, Rhys Barber and Tyler Blake.
