Local leader and philanthropist Gavin Morrow will lead the event, which is kicking off on March 28 in Ballarat.

The goal is to bring together families, car enthusiasts and community members to raise funds for the Fiona Elsey Cancer Research Institute (FECRI).

Mr Morrow has a history of leading fundraising efforts in Horsham.

From a postie bike ride that raised $25,000 to ongoing charity work, his commitment to health initiatives is well known.

“Cancer affects everyone, but through FECRI we’re making strides in understanding and defeating it,” he said.

“Whether you’ve got a classic car, a ute or a family wagon, I encourage everyone to join us on this journey.

“Together, we can drive towards a cure.”

Director of FECRI Professor George Kannourakis said the event was about uniting the community for the cause.

“This event is about more than just fundraising; it’s about uniting our community to support cutting-edge research,” Professor Kannourakis said.

“Every kilometre driven and every dollar raised brings us closer to defeating cancer.

“Together, we can make a real difference.”

The Drive to Survive tour will kick off at 110 Lydiard Street in Ballarat, where participants will meet Professor Kannourakis and the FECRI team.

Locals can join the Drive to Survive convoy, donate or sponsor a vehicle by visiting fecri.org.au/drivetosurvive.

The journey will take participants through regional Victoria, raising awareness and funds for FECRI's groundbreaking research.

A colourful convoy of vehicles, driven by passionate individuals, will set the tone for this uplifting community event.
