Election information now available

Hindmarsh Shire Council has published a guide for anyone considering standing for council.

The guide includes information on running for council and what the role of a councillor looks like in the community.

Candidates must be an Australian citizen, be at least 18 years of age, be enrolled to vote in the council area and have completed the required candidate training.

Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) is partnering with Victorian councils to deliver information sessions for the community and potential candidates in the MAV Stand for Council program.

These sessions can be attended in-person or online.

The MAV Stand for Council program will take place at Nhill Memorial Community Centre on Wednesday August 14 from 6pm.

Intending attendees must register at www.hindmarsh.vic.gov.au/MAV-Stand-for-Council.
