Farrell sisters set to represent Australia on international stage
Stawell's Savannah and Mackenzie Farrell are preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime after being selected to represent Australia at the International Taekwon-Do Open Tournament in Suzhou, China, this August.

The sisters, aged 15 and 13 respectively, will join the Australian ITF Taekwon-Do Team and compete against some of the world's best athletes on August 15 and 16, proudly wearing the green and gold on the international stage.
Their selection is the culmination of years of dedication and hard work at Il Shim International Taekwon-Do Stawell, where they have trained under the guidance of Chris Sirre and his coaching team.
Throughout their journey, Savannah and Mackenzie have steadily progressed while embracing the core tenets of Taekwon-Do – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable Spirit.
The duo’s efforts have translated into numerous gold, silver and bronze medals at state and national tournaments across multiple disciplines.
Most recently, at the inaugural General Choi Cup in New South Wales, Savannah and Mackenzie returned home with a combined haul of eight medals, competing against domestic and international competitors.
In Suzhou, Savannah and Mackenzie will test themselves against elite international competitors in full-contact sparring, individual patterns, and special techniques.
The tournament represents not only a significant milestone for the sisters but also for Il Shim International Taekwon-Do Stawell and the wider community, with the knowledge and experience they gain set to benefit fellow students upon their return.
To help cover the costs of the trip, Il Shim International Taekwon-Do Stawell has launched a fundraising campaign.
