Field Days two good for some
WIMMERA Machinery Field Days has announced its 2027 event will be two days not three.
This year’s event in March was rain-affected and shortened unexpectedly with the cancellation of the opening day due to heavy rainfall.
Over 100 millimetres of rain fell in just a few days, hampering the approximately-400 exhibitors getting ready at the Doeen site, so the event ended up only being run on the remaining two days.
In a statement, WMFD said they always seek feedback from exhibitors post-event and “this year there was a big response to the two days that we were forced to hold due to the extreme weather in the lead up.”
“After a lot of discussion and careful consideration, the WMFD Committee have decided that the Wimmera Machinery Field Days will be held over two days in 2027,” the statement said.
“The dates will be Tuesday 2nd (and) Wednesday 3rd March 2027.”
The committee acknowledged this might not be agreeable for everybody, but felt it was the best decision.
“We understand this will be good for some exhibitors, but concerning for others,” they said.
“If you have any problems or concerns, please reach out to us.
“We will have more details to follow as we work through updating our policies and procedures to reflect the change.
“We look forward to seeing you in 2027.”
