History was created at a Statutory Meeting held in the Karkarooc Shire Council Chamber when Councillor Isabel Anderson became the first lady president of the shire.
Councillor Isabel Anderson made history as the first Karkarooc Shire Council lady president to be elected on August 4 1986.
