Footpath inspections
HINDMARSH Shire Council's asset management team have started routine footpath and laneway inspections in Rainbow, Jeparit, Nhill and Dimboola.

Footpaths need to be clear to ensure that pedestrians, including people with walkers and prams, can safely and easily use the paths.
The inspections will also identify trip hazards, damaged footpaths, damaged pit lids, and issues with vegetation.
Laneways also need to be kept clear from fence to fence (up to 5m high) to ensure clear access at all times for emergency vehicles and for deliveries by larger vehicles in laneways.
Residents may receive a slip in their letterbox asking to clean up any overhanging branches or foliage, but are reminded to be careful to only trim foliage to the minimum of what is required for accessibility, the request does not allow tree removal.
For tree removal, please contact Council's Planning department.
If you have any queries or questions about these inspections, please contact Hindmarsh Shire Council.
