Funcke receives Minyip Bowls Club life membership
Minyip Bowls Club inducted Ray Funcke as a life member following its annual general meeting last week.
Funcke started with the club in 1978, marking 47 years since he commenced bowls.
As well as being a fierce competitor, he has been highly active within the club.
Perhaps Funcke's greatest contribution has been serving as club treasurer for 20 years.
The new life member's playing achievements include being a 10-time club pairs champion and the club singles champion in 2000, as well as winning multiple pennant premierships and a Wimmera region fours championship.
As an administrator, Funcke has been integral to installing various club features, including the light towers, the shelters and multiple clubhouse extensions.
Funcke joins his mother, Ivy, and wife, Tiena, on the life members honour board.
