Grant received for desexing program
Horsham PAWS has been successful in the current round of the Animal Welfare Fund Grants program after they secured $13,000 to support their cat desexing program in Horsham.

Vice president and secretary Emilie Whitehead said the program is a collaboration with Fur Life Vet and Your Family Vet and aims to make a difference in the community.
"This program is specifically designed to assist lower-income residents, including pension card holders, healthcare card holders, and concession card holders, by providing affordable desexing and microchipping services for their cats," she said.
"We're currently finalising the program details, including the number of spots available within our budget, and expect to have the application form ready by the first week of August.
"Residents will be able to access the forms online via our website, on our Facebook page, or in person at both veterinary clinics and our shop on Firebrace Street."
Ms Whitehead said the grant will help enable them to further their goal of reducing cat overpopulation while promoting animal health and safety.
"We're deeply grateful for the support of the Horsham community and look forward to giving back through this incredible program," she said.
Round 12 of the program saw $1.6 million awarded by Minister for Agriculture Ros Spence.
This includes almost $1.14 million to not-for-profit organisations, shelters, and community rescue and rehoming organisations to support the rehoming of companion animals.
Funding of $460,000 has been granted to not-for-profit and community vet clinics to upgrade or expand their services or facilities or set up new low-cost clinics in areas of need across the state, which will be a real game-changer for Victorian families needing access to cheaper veterinary care.
