Healthcare workers go bananas over scrubs
Warracknabeal local and owner of Pink Nade, Johanna Glennen, can now see her own design worn by healthcare staff after she won the "Scrub 'em up with love" competition.

Run by Gorman and Dangerfield, the opportunity challenged entrants to design a pair of scrubs for a chance to win by being able to distribute 300 pairs to the hospital of their choice.
Entries opened at the beginning of the year and while Ms Glennen was on holiday in Queensland, the deadline crept closer and closer.
"Every year I self-sabotage and miss the deadline," she said.
Without having any idea of what to create, she found herself making a trip to Officeworks, where she bought coloured paper and supplies.
Ms Glennen said while she was at the checkout a packet of banana lollies inspired her final design.
With a short amount of time left, her handmade banana design was transferred onto her laptop so she could submit it to the competition.
"I made it with 30 minutes to spare," she said.
There were more than 900 entries and a winner was determined by the highest number of public votes.
To much of her surprise, she won first place and as a result was able to distribute 300 scrubs between two local hospitals, Horsham Wimmera Base Hospital and Warracknabeal's Rural Northwest Health campus.
"I was very excited," she said.
"The public vote made it even more exciting.
"I didn't think I would win."
Ms Glennen said her youngest son was born at Horsham hospital and they had had "plenty of visits to both hospitals".
"It's an opportunity to give back," she said.
So far she has received great feedback from nurses who have worn her scrubs.
"I've been getting lots of compliments on them," she said.
Grampians Health Horsham acting site director Katie Walsgott said her team were absolutely thrilled to receive the scrubs.
“We’ve shared them among Grampians Health Horsham acute and emergency nurses as well as our allied health, care communities and medical teams," Mrs Walsgott said.
"They look so amazing.
"They are bright and fun to wear, and the patients have really enjoyed the look of them too.
“They are especially ideal for wearing in the children’s ward and the emergency department - it’s such a great design.”
Ms Glennen said a recent collaboration with Little Party Dress also saw her Miss Honey Vibes bee design printed on a dress.
"It's been great to get my work out there, and this has brought other opportunities to me," Ms Glennen said.
