Hewitt and Midgley on top in stableford

Warracknabeal Golf Club's women’s competition on Wednesday September 24 saw 19 players take part in a multiple stableford event, generously sponsored by Brian and Venita Walder.

The ladies were able to enjoy their day of golf with good weather.

Congratulations to Wendy Hewitt and Janice Midgley, who took out the day’s honours with a superb score of 64 points.

Runners-up were Mary Massey and Kerry Oulton with a strong 59 points.

Nearest the pins: Warrack Hot Bread 5th – Kerry Oulton; Power & Bennett 7th – Kerry Oulton; Rural Northwest Health 13th – Casey Phelan, which was nearly in the hole and Casey got her birdie; Sue Krause third shot on 9th – Casey Phelan, once again nearly securing her birdie

Best nine-hole scores: Warracknabeal Dental Clinic 9 Out – Sue Krause and Carolyn Morcom 30 points; Shirley Liersch 9 In – Vicki Hinkley & Cindy Marsh 33 points

The spinning wheel winner was Leonie Atkin, who will be very happy with her win. 

The Palace Hotel Raffle winner was our visitor for the day from Horsham Golf Club,  Cathy Smith. 

Next week’s event will be the Feet First Monthly Medal, with office duty to be handled by Karen Germano and Julie Bayles.

We would like to wish the best of luck to Casey Phelan and Wendy Hewitt, selected from Warracknabeal Golf Club and Casey also from Sheep Hills Golf Club to represent the Wimmera in the Victorian Country Week championships to be held in Mildura next week.
